Awe Mail

from Elsewhere

Six times a year, a personal letter and a small collection of paper keepsakes arrive from somewhere in the world. For people who notice things and still love real mail.

Other kids got cassette tapes in the mail. I got bags of stamps.
Yes, I was that cool.

I grew up in the age of letter writing. My family moved around a lot, and letters were how I stayed connected to the people and places I’d left behind. My best friends got frequent notes with my whole heart poured onto the pages.

I had a bucket of coloured markers, one of those pens that let you choose
blue, black, green, or red ink, and a collection of cute stationery to match my mood to my letter.

Then there was the stamp club, a subscription that sent a bag of stamps from all over the world every month. Each one was a tiny piece of somewhere I hadn’t been yet, and an early glimpse of the travel lover I would become.

Those two childhood loves grew into my love of happy mail: anything in the mailbox that isn’t a bill or a sales flyer, and that someone made with care.

Awe Mail is my version of that feeling.
Think of it as a small magazine, full of stories, images, and things that help you see the world a little differently, all handmade by me for you. Each envelope brings together what I love most: words, travel, and the small things that help us live well.

It comes every other month because I pour a lot of creativity into every envelope, and I’d also like to keep my sanity.

Let’s see where it takes us.

What’s in the envelope

Heading: I won’t spoil it. Much.

Every Awe Mail starts with a letter from me, written to you. The rest changes with each mailing, but you can count on:

  • something to read slowly

  • something to keep

  • something for your journal, your wall, or a favourite book

  • something you didn’t see coming

It’s all paper, and it’s all made with care. Your first envelope also holds a little something extra, to start a collection of your own.

Where the mail comes from

Heading: Six envelopes. Six places. No spoilers.

Each mailing is anchored in one place I’ve been and one word that belongs to it, often a word with no neat English translation. You’ll find out what it is when you open the envelope. For now, a few clues:

  • January: A reason to get out of bed.

  • March: A cold coast and a good stiff wind.

  • May: A destination nobody has quite worked out yet.

  • July: A very hot afternoon, and no plans to do anything about it.

  • September: A song about what’s far away.

  • November: A warm room, and no hurry to leave it.

How it works

Heading: The details.

FAQ

Can I give it as a gift?
[Yes. Add how it works, such as a note for the recipient or a chosen start month.]

Do I need to be crafty or keep a journal?
Not at all. Some people will cut, paste, and collage. Others will read the letter with a cup of tea and keep it in a drawer.

What if I want to stop?
[Add your renewal and cancellation policy.]

Final call to action

Heading: The first letter goes out in January.

Add your name to the list and I’ll let you know when subscriptions open, before the first envelope is sealed.
